PLAYER PROFILE: DANIELE BURUBWA

Daniele Burubwa has as a 16/17-year old played in U19-level top division throughout the whole season. A player that at first glance comes across as a very energetic and mobile player who often, in offensive play, positions himself in half-spaces and between the opponents’ midfield- and defensive line. His quickness and low center of gravity makes him very hard to keep up with in quick turns and the initial moments of offensive and defensive transitions. These qualities together with his high quality in ball control makes him dominant in tight spaces. His physical appearance comes across as small, but the balance and core strength he possesses helps him and the team maintain possession in crowded spaces, and also win a big proportion of 50/50 battles.

Characteristics

Ball-control, dribbling, agility, good balance/core strength

Technical

The technical characteristics that stand out is his ball control and dribbling. A player that rarely loose possession, even when giving him the ball in tight spaces. A player that turns upright towards the opponent’s goal quickly and drive towards the defenders as soon he gets the chance. He is not the player that always try a dribble, but he runs towards the defender to get a reaction, and in many cases maintains the possession. The technical qualities he possesses helps the team keep possession after ball recovery. A player that makes the team “rest” after long periods of pressing.

Physical

At first glance a small physical appearance, but uses it to his advantage. His agility and mobility, together with a strong core strength and balance of the body, makes him a rare player physically.

Psychologic

A quiet player who doesn’t take much place. Confident body language, but can fade away together with the team in periods when his team is not having good momentum.

Tactical

His offensive role is finding the spaces between the lines (midfield and back line), and receiving the ball in half spaces. This also makes him dependent on players passing the ball to him in the right moments, and for him to be mobile and find the right timing in these moments.
